| FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ'S) |
Q. How to choose a DJ? A. Familiarity, you saw a particular DJ at an event, friends and family know a DJ or through the phone book or the internet. Experience should be major factor into your decision. FACT: the average wedding cost between $25,000 & $35,000 dollars. A DJ will cost anywhere from $700 to $1200 dollars, thats less then 5% of the cost, yet your musical entertainment is the most important ingredient of a successful event. The Disc Jockey business is built on referrals, so the longer the DJ has been in business, the more experienced the DJ will be. Look for those who specialize in your type of event, its not uncommon for an experienced DJ to have performed at 100's of events. Meet with your DJ to make sure he/she is experienced in your particular event. RONJAX has been in business for over 45 years. We specialize in weddings and have performed at over a thousand weddings alone.....We would be more than happy to meet with you! Q. When should you book a DJ? A. Weddings should be booked at least 6 to 8 months in advance. Experienced DJ's tend to book a year in advance. Q.Do You require a deposit and contract? A. Yes. The deposit which is usually 20-30% is required to hold your date and the contract is for the benefit of both parties. Q. What are your qualifications? A. RONJAX is a pioneer in this area's musical entertainment, having provided music for thousands of events since 1961. Q.Do you specialize in a certain type of music? A. We play music from 1940 up to and including todays top 40. Q.Do you take requests? A. Yes we do, unless a customer specifies not to. An experienced DJ uses requests to get a feel of what your guests like to dance to. Q. Can we provide our own music? Can we include a song list? A. Yes. You can provide your own music, chances are we have your music but you are more then welcomed to supply your own. With regards to a music list, we definitely want a list of do not plays, but please keep in mind that an extensive play/ don't play list could be limiting in nature. Guests usually span several generations, consider the standards when making your lists, most DJ's play a mix of dance and slow standards because they tend to get everyone on the dance floor having a good time. Its a time tested formula that gives your entertainer the flexibility he/she needs to keep your guests on the dance floor enjoying themselves. Q. Can we see you perform at an event? A. While this may seem practical, more and more brides as well as establishments are prohibiting this from taking place. Brides consider it an intrusion and want the entertainer concentrating on their event without having to perform for others. Another thing to consider is, that a persons tastes may differ from yours, an experienced entertainer tailors the entertainment for that particular client. Our suggestion is set up a no obligation appointment to discuss you musical tastes and entertainment needs Q. Will you be the master of ceremonies? A. Yes, we will Q. What is your standard attire? A. Weddings are always attended in a full tuxedo. All other events proper dress is required. Q. Are you insured? A. Yes. We have 1 million dollars of liability insurance Q. Do you have back up equipment? A. We are constantly updating out equipment, the likelihood of a malfunction is rare, never the less we have plenty of backup equipment if needed. |
